I’ve been an advisor to the Auditor General in Wales on how to improve public services and has advised different European governments on the principles of lean and systems thinking as well as publishing a number of key reports commissioned by governmental or industrial bodies. I’m a regular speaker at different international conferences and engages with both lean professionals and general business executives through public media including appearances on BBC.
Chad Walters has been practicing Lean and continuous improvement for over eight years. He is a Six Sigma Black Belt certified by the American Society for Quality and received his MBA from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, where he was a member of the Kelley MBA Sports & Entertainment Academy. He has been a consultant for the Atlanta Braves, the Salvation Army, and Automatic Data Processing (ADP), and has also worked with Eaton Corporation, The Dannon Company, Thomson Plastics, Elmore Sports Group, and the South Bend Silver Hawks minor league baseball club.
Michael Hoseus, a co-author of the Shingo Award-winning book Toyota Culture, developed his TPS skills at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky where he worked at the General Manager level in both Production and Human Resources being mentored by his Japanese sensei. His Toyota process experience includes production, engineering, maintenance, safety, personnel, employee relations, benefits/payroll and training and development. He learned first-hand how Toyota’s success hinges on integrating their production and human systems to create the Toyota Way. Mike is the Executive Director of the Center for Quality People and Organizations and President of Lean Culture Enterprises. He supports organizations in their lean journey, focusing on leadership and cultural aspects of the lean transformation. He is an adjunct professor with the University of Kentucky’s Center for Manufacturing.
I was hired by Toyota Motor Manufacturing KY (TMMK) in 1988 at the start up of the first North American Toyota plant, worked ten years on the production floor from hourly to management then moved on to Human Resources as a trainer/sensei. I worked one-on-one with Japanese trainers and certified by the Toyota Institute in Japan in the 8 step TBP Problem solving. I have over 460 hours training in the Toyota Production System.
Created our business Teaching Lean Incorporated in 2003–now Ernie Richardson and I travel all over the U.S. teaching and implementing Lean Transformation in various industries. Co-Founder and Partner of Gemba Academy. Ron has more than 15 years experience in various manufacturing, supply chain, and senior leadership roles. Ron has held the titles of process engineer, engineering manager, master black belt, and director of manufacturing & continuous improvement. In 2002, Ron was the first American to win the Nokia Global Six Sigma and Overall Quality award in Helsinki, Finland. Ron also launched the popular LSS Academy blog which has since been rebranded and serves as Gemba Academy’s blog. Ron holds a bachelors degree in automated manufacturing and an MBA in technology management.
Mark Graban is an internationally-recognized expert in the field of “Lean Healthcare,” as a consultant, author, keynote speaker, and blogger. Mark is also the Vice President of Customer Success for the software company KaiNexus, helping further their mission of “making improvement happen” in healthcare organizations and other industries.
He is the author of the book Lean Hospitals: Improving Quality, Patient Safety, and Employee Engagement (Productivity Press), which was selected for a 2009 Shingo Research and Professional Publication Award, the first healthcare book to win this award, and is being translated into eight languages. A 2nd revised edition was released in November, 2011.
Mark has also co-authored a new book, titled “Healthcare Kaizen: Engaging Front-Line Staff in Sustainable Continuous Improvements,” which was released in June 2012 and was also given the Shingo Research Award in 2013. A newly revised and condensed edition, “The Executive Guide to Healthcare Kaizen: Leadership for a Continuously Learning and Improving Organization” was released in August, 2013.

Dan Markovitz is president of TimeBack Management, a consulting firm that radically improves performance by applying lean concepts to knowledge work.
He is a faculty member at the Lean Enterprise Institute and teaches at the Stanford University Continuing Studies Program. He also lectures on A3 thinking at the Ohio State University’s Fisher School of Business.
Dan is a frequent speaker and presenter at conferences, and has consulted to organizations as diverse as Abbott Vascular, WL Gore & Associates, Intel, the City of Menlo Park, Clif Bar, CamelBak, and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
His book, A Factory of One, was honored with a Shingo Research Award in 2013.

Earlier in his career, he held management positions in product marketing at Sierra Designs, Adidas, CNET and Asics Tiger, where he worked in sales, product marketing, and product development. He also has experience as an entrepreneur, having founded his own skateboarding footwear company.
Dan lived in Japan for four years and is fluent in Japanese. He holds a BA from Wesleyan University and an MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

I am an experienced Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt (process improvement), with over 15 years experience in a corporate environment. I am certified as a Master Black Belt through 6sigma.US, and Lean Master certified through Rockwell Collins.

Jeff attended the University of Michigan where he earned both a Masters and a Bachelors of Science degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering. Jeffrey graduated at the top of his class in his Masters Degree program and was awarded the “Outstanding Graduate Student” award from the Industrial and Systems Engineering Department. He was also elected into Alpha Pi Mu, the Industrial Engineering Honor Society.
Jeffrey is a member of several professional associations, including the Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers (IISE), APICS the Professional Association for Supply Chain Management, Michigan Society of Professional Engineers (MSPE), National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), and The International MODAPTS Association. Jeff is past President of the MSPE Fairlane Chapter and served many years on the Board of Directors. In 1995 he won nomination for the “Young Engineer of The Year” and in 1998 the “Engineer of the Year” awards.
